Ribbon Cutting

The Southfield Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to host our members' ribbon cuttings...

f you are new business or have recently moved your business to a new location then a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is a perfect opportunity for you and your business to announce this special event. Any business moving to a new location, remodeling its facility, under new ownership or new management, or launching a new product or service qualifies for a ribbon cutting ceremony as long as that business is a member in good standing of The Southfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber will:

• Attend the event
• Market your ceremony
• Post the ceremony on the Chamber website event calendar
• Invite City's Officials and Ambassador's to attend.
• Supply ribbon and scissors for the opening event.

Ribbon Ceremony Cost: Free for members

A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony must be requested and set up at least 4 weeks prior to the event. If you are interested in this service please contact us.

At the time of the ribbon cutting/open house, the Mayor and Executive Chamber Director will say a few words about welcoming your new business and introduce you as the owner. You can say a few words about your business and introduce your staff. The ribbon is cut and refreshments served, at which time people have the opportunity for a tour of your business.

Several businesses have offered an advertised discount promotion for a few hours surrounding the ceremony; for example: a 15% discount on merchandise purchased for the two hours following the ceremony. Please advise us if you plan to offer a discount.
