About Southfield Chamber of Commerce

Helping Southfield retain its excellent quality of life and high profile in the global economy is one of the goals of the Southfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Southfield Area Chamber plays an active role in a variety of development projects and initiatives, including Southfield's Downtown Development Authority, the city's Business Development Team and the recently-formed Southeast Michigan Chamber Alliance, a coalition of area chambers representing almost 40,000 Businesses.

Additionally, the Chamber supports the community by hosting charity events, and participates in fundraisers, job fairs, and the school/business partnership.

The Southfield Area Chamber sponsors a variety of events for its members throughout the year. Five or six times a year it hosts business card exchanges, as well as partnering with other Oakland County chambers. The Chamber also sponsors frequent luncheons and seminars on topics ranging from financing to managing human resources. The Chamber annually hosts one of Oakland County's largest golf outings. A Business Expo is held in the spring at the Southfield Town Center.

Chamber membership includes a number of benefits for member businesses, including preferred rates for health care, business communication, and member to member discounts.

The Chamber has an active membership that participates on numerous committees, including Taste of Southfield, Best of Southfield, Table for 8, Lunch and Learn, Economic Development, Entreprenuer Innovation Series, Ambassador's Council and Strategic Planning. Tanya Markos-Vanno; Executive Director states, "Our activities and high profile within the city has the Chamber positioned to be a leading partner in the growth of the City of Southfield well into the next Century."
